AP freaks up
In a story on Utah state government's experiment with a four-day work week, the Associated Press's Mike Stark wrote a creative lead, but committed a blasphamous faux pas:SALT LAKE CITY - Starting next month, it will be "TGIT" for Utah state employees. As in: "Thank God It's Thursday."
In a yearlong experiment aimed at reducing the state's energy costs and commuters' gasoline expenses, Utah is about to become the first state to switch to a four-day workweek for thousands of government employees.
In Mormon Utah, it's: Thank Gosh It's Thursday.

The agency reports today that Jesse Helms has died. I found this on the internet. My wonder is that Orrin Hatch didn't stop this racist attack on the black congresswoman:
"Soon after the Senate vote on the Confederate flag insignia, Sen. Jesse Helms (R.-N.C.) ran into Mosely-Braun in a Capitol elevator. Helms turned to his friend, Sen. Orrin Hatch (R.-Utah), and said, "Watch me make her cry. I'm going to make her cry. I'm going to sing 'Dixie' until she cries." He then proceeded to sing the song about the good life during slavery to Mosely-Braun (Gannett News Service, 9/2/93; Time, 8/16/93).
Note that Gannett described Hatch as Helms' good friend.
I'm starting to feel sorry for Satan. He has Hitler and Helms and soon will welcome Cheney and Bush.
