The Big Crunch
KSL and the Deseret News offer best-of-times-worst-of-times takes on skyrocketing food and fuel prices.

No surprise, KSL finds a silver lining: High gas prices are good for Utah arts and entertainment venues. Utah is so swell you never have to leave.

Cedar City Shakespeare Festival executive director Scott Phillips is trolling to bring nearby southern Californians to Utah:
It's closer, it's cooler and it's a lot more colorful.
The DNews reports on the struggle of a local business, Avenues Bakery, to survive the increasing costs of eggs and grain. Salt Lake City economic development director Bob Farrington, who will plead their case to their landlord, says the bakery is a "poster child" for the plight of local business:
Everyone's kind of working every angle to help them out.
