Days o' '76?
The state Air Quality office says fireworks add to the Wasatch Front's pollution situation that is already approaching the unbreathability of the surface of Venus.
Air-quality director Cheryl Heying says:
Those most impacted by the unhealthy air pollution are young children, older adults, pregnant women and people with respiratory problems.
Babies, old folks and pregger women—the three most beloved groups in Utah!

I think there's only one solution to reducing fireworks pollution: Combine the holidays of Independence Day and Pioneer Day(s) into one whopping celebration. Imagine a companies of Uncle Sams pulling handcarts down State Street.
