Mitt's bucketful
Utah adoptee Mitt Romney's opportunity to be a bucket of warm piss* may be fast approaching.

The Evans-Novak Report says "sources close to John McCain's presidential campaign" are hinting he will reveal the name of his running mate this week. It reportedly would be a way to steal headlines from Barack Obama who is getting saturation coverage during his Middle Eastern trip.

ENR says the name of McCain's running mate has not been mentioned:
But Mitt Romney has led the speculation recently.
McCain told CBS News:
It’s pretty easy to heal the wounds, if there are any — and they were minor — when you have someone who’s very generous and wants to work with you for the good of the country.
*John Nance Garner, F.D.R.’s first vice presidents, supposedly compared the job to, “a bucket of warm spit.” He actually said "warm piss," but newspapers back then cleaned up his quote.

If McCain hopes to have any chance in November he won't pick Romney. That said, Romney hasn't been on the McCain wagon out of the goodness of his heart; he wants something. On the off chance that MCain wins look for him to offer Romney Treasury or Commerce.

Warchol is obsessed with Mitt Romney.

Romney is too educated, too famous, too rich and too accomplished to give "a warm bucket of piss" what a loser like Warchol thinks.

Get over it. Obama is going to win the election anyway.

Should McCain choose "The Mitt", and they win, the second morning in the white house would go something like this "Good Morning Mr. President, would you like a cup of "Mormon Tea"? The third morning, we would be burying our President.................

The only way McCain would have a chance of winning is if he chooses John Huntsman, Jr. the current Utah Governor as his Vice-Presidential running mate.

It's interesting that newspapers once had the class to "clean up" the original crass quote for broad public consumption while still retaining its basic meaning. I don't care much about vice presidential running mates, but I do care about the vulgar culture my children are inheriting. It's too bad Warchol and the SL Tribune don't have the same degree of class as past generations of news editors. Buckets of warm spit to you!

I consider Mitt a financial genius (compared to most current politicians). He is well educated, professional, passionate, and motivated - all of which will serve this country well. It's a shame everyone forgets all that when they hear the word "mormon". In fact, it's a shame that his dedication to God proves to be his most terrible downfall. This country has just down-spiraled over recent years, especially since FDR and the age of warm spit.

At least FDR knew how to win a war, unlike Eisenhower or Nixon. And to date the democrats have always paid of the Republican's deficits. Hopefully we can do the same with Bush's legacy of debt.

Romney is a cut throat business man who made his fortune at the expense of shareholders and the workers of the businesses he took over.

In cases such as Ampad and GS Industries, another steelmaker, Bain-controlled companies shuttered plants, slashed hundreds of jobs, and landed in bankruptcy.

But in almost all cases Bain Capital made money. In fact, the firm earned substantially more from Ampad than Staples. Staples returned about $13 million on a $2 million investment; Ampad yielded more than $100 million on $5 million, according to reports to investors.

I don't want a pink slip along with a job app to apply for my old job at minimum wage with no benefits.

Did anon 9:14 really say Eisenhower didn't know how to win wars?

Rommel, Hitler, Luftwaffe airmen and Wehrmacht commanders and soldiers as well as American, British, French, Russian, and German citizens of the day probably would find such a statement very foolish.

Well, one thing American voters should keep in mind.

Romney is a Mormon. McCain is old and shaky and see how his memory fails him.

McCain is elected and Romney is No. 2. McCain has a stroke and either dies or is incapacitated for however long. Romney, the Mormon become president.

No freaking way. Do Americans want a Mormon as president? Super heck no!

It could happen, Romney being selected McCain's No. 2, but I doubt it.

It won't be a female, so my next best choice for him to pick is . . .

It probably will be one of the primary opponents who didn't deride McCain as much as Romney.

I believe McCain will pick George W. Bush to be his vice residential running mate.

Sorry to burst your bubble, king, but Shrub is constitutionally ineligible for the vice-presidency. Thank heavens.

And I am amazed. Nine previous comments, and only one had the guts to attach a name.

You sound very intimidating, Steve.

Best of luck.

Oh, wait....just to prove I have guts, I guess I need to attach my name.

That's right, Eisenhower didn't know how to win a war. Did we win the Korean War?

We haven't won a war since FDR so don't and then we paid for it.

The GOP, especially in Utah just wants to run things like in Herriman.

I don't want to live in a United States of Mormon
