Who's The Man?
The Ogden Standard-Examiner has joined the cancer* that wants to know who Mr. Big is.

In an editorial, the S-E points out that voter trust in the Legislature has been undermined by allegations that someone in House leadership colluded with former Rep. Mark Walker to allegedly offer a bribe to his Treasurer race opponent.

A House Ethics Committee investigation into the incident vaporized when Walker resigned his seat—some surmise to protect House leaders from an embarrassing probe.

But a criminal investigation into the bribery allegation continues. Utah Weber County Attorney Mark DeCaria and Davis County Attorney Troy Rawlings are leading that investigation and the S-E says:

We hope the Rawlings-DeCaria investigation proceeds quickly. It will be important not only to confirm or reject allegations about Walker's behavior, but to resolve the questions now swirling about the possible involvement of House leadership. Voters in various House districts are currently wondering if they have cause to worry about backroom dealing by powerful incumbents who will be on their ballots this fall.

Updated photos: I'm 100 percent sure one of the leaders pictured above was NOT 100 percent involved in the Walker incident.

*In deference to Rep. Steve Urquhart, R-St. George, who coined the term.

Tribune's Bob Barr Blackout Watch: It's been 45 days since the Libertarian Party nominated Bob Barr as its presidential candidate, but the Salt Lake Tribune has yet to report this news in its print edition.

Yeah, and it's been 57 days since Bob the gorilla threw his own dung at a tourist at Hogle Zoo, yet the Salt Lake Tribune STILL has not reported this news in its print edition.

I guess a ridiculous fringe candidate with asinie policies isn't newsworthy either.

Mark Shurtleff is the biggest do nothing bureaucrat in Utah and that's really saying something.

My question is, how much money is the LDS church getting out of this?

PS Tyrannicide, You have a real problem when Bob Barr is more Republican than McCain. I think that is where your frustration stem from.

Anon 12:36,

How much money is the LDS Church getting out of this?

Barberi's been off the air for several years now and there are still people spouting this crap.

Are you sexist? How do you know Mr Big isn't really Mrs Big? Maybe Sheryl Allen was just helping to set up Walker by saying she could "make it happen".

Also, how do you know Mr Big wasn't Walker himself? With his alleged power to block all legislation of Allen, Mascaro, and Hansen it sounds like he was a power to be dealt with.

Dear tyrannicide:

I share your concern, but you need to shake of those old nostalgic beliefs that the newspapers are just there to report the facts. Reality is that they are designed to promote a specific agenda. Right now the Trib agenda is to destroy all Republican as corrupt, celebrate the Democratic party and the Obama coronation, and ignore everything else.
