Ruling hailed by dweebs
Here's grist for a really odd episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

The Utah Supreme Court, apparently with straight faces, threw out the manslaughter conviction of Erik Kurtis Low. Low killed a Park City pal after the victim gave him a wedgie.

According to Pam Manson's story in the Tribune:
Court records say Hirschey teased, manhandled and threatened Low while they and two other men were ingesting cocaine at his apartment. Finally, in the early morning hours of May 8, 2003, Hirschey grabbed Low's underwear and yanked upward hard enough to pull him off his feet.
Fifteen seconds later (who had the stop watch?), Low pulled a handgun and shot Michael Jon Hirschey twice—once in the head.

The high court ruled that the prosecution's sentencing instructions may have confused the jury and ordered the prosecutor be put in a headlock and given nuggies.
