Time for chemo on the Hill
Q: Why is it so hot?A: Hell froze over and the heat had to go somewhere when the Utah House Ethics Committee decided to look into allegations of unethical behavior against one of their own.
Three Democrats and two moderate Republicans called for the probe following allegations that Rep. Mark Walker, right, offered his rival in the state treasurer's race, Richard Ellis, a lucrative job if he dropped out. Ellis didn't bite and went on to stomp Walker.

Walker was supported by Legislative leaders, so the call for an ethics panel isn't being enthusiastically received by Republicans. In fact, Rules Committee chairman Rep. Steven Urquhart, left, has come a little unglued over the demand and some related allegations of back-room deals, calling three of the lawmakers involved "cancer." So much for legislative decorum.

Cmon, Glen. I don't see the future Senator from St. George coming unglued. He simply rhetorically tore poor Rep. Mascaro a new one.
For God's sake Glen, this posting on Urquhart's blog is probably the most interesting thing I've read in Utah politics in weeks. Where the hell is the Trib on this? Urquhart rips into Mascaro and two others for there bad legislative manners, and says they have other motives for the ethics investigation. Then a legislative candidate's husband joins in the fray, followed by his outing by Urquhart, then Mascaro responds in a typo-heavy post, and Urquhart once again trumps Mascaro's claims with fact. This is grand theater. Get off your asses!
I can see our Legislature's shenanigans as Theater Of The Absurd, or Adventures In Nihilist Outpourings, or Doomed To Failure Dinner Theater, but Grand Theater with typos? You need to get out more.
Walker lost and thus became a loser and thus was of no further use to the right-wing power brokers in the lege. If he would have won they'd be fighting that investigation tooth and nail and getting all indignant about it. This is what passes for loyalty among the brethren, whoops, I mean the rethuglicans.
"Three Democrats and two moderate Republicans"
Unlikely. How about: 3 democrats and 2 RINOs?
or 3 democrats and 2 who just won't admit it because they then would not get elected?
Ripping Mascaro a new one. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving "donkey".
