Show and tell
A University of Utah study has uncovered something non-surprising: War isn't good for kids.

Children growing up in war zones see revenge as justification for stealing and hurting others, according to the new Psychology Department study. And war-traumatized kids expect people to behave violently at any time.

Co-author Cecilia Wainryb, whose study is in Child Development, says:
That worries me. The first finding about revenge is worrisome, but not surprising. With this other finding [stealing], it says when I'm not under pressure, when my survival is not at stake, I'll steal if I get a chance. That speaks to a diminished sense of moral agency, a diminished sense of trust in others.

It's too bad our military had to introduce revenge to Middle Eastern cultures. Before the war, there probably wasn't even a word for "revenge" in Arabic.

That's hilarious right there.

Yes, I'm certain that the culture of beheadings had no idea before the US showed up.

"Before the war there probably wasn't even a word for revenge in Arabic". Are you FREAKING KIDDING ME! Ever read a Fatwah? They are all about revenege and avenge. There are plenty words in Arabic for revenge. I just checked several online arabic dictionaries, and sure enough, they have had a word for revenge.
Come on!

I would guess that maybe—just maybe—Anonymous 11:33 was using sarcasm. But being shocked and appalled is far easier than reading and thinking.

We don't need to go to war zones to see this.
Try any kid in Glendale.
