Inside the sausage factory
Remember when Sen. Chris Buttars' behavior during the last legislature embarrassed hominids everywhere? No, not the time he offended African-Americans with gaffs involving "black babies" and "lynch mobs."
And, no, not the offensive statements about gays.
Stop guessing! I'm talking about the mess he caused for GOP leaders by chastising a judge on Senate letterhead for ruling against his developer pal Wendell Gibby. Later, unabashed, Buttars ripped into Mapleton city officials for their opposition to said Gibby's land scheme.
You may have wondered, after checking campaign filings, why Buttars likes Gibby so much he even let him use his senate office as a lobbying headquarters. After all, Gibby's name doesn't appear as a Buttars contributor.
Tribune columnist Paul Rolly reveals that Gibby had his employees (who don't live in Buttars' district) donate to Buttars' campaign, then reimbursed them through bonuses.
Pretty slick, no?

isn't it time for somebody to go to jail?
Jail ? No, here "Mos" get "Pro-Moted"
"Pretty slick, no"?
No. Illegal. Gibby and Buttars both will have their tails in a sling over this one.
Someone could make some money. Put Buttars' ugly - is that the right word? - face on rolls of toilet paper.
Let me answer my own question:
Ugly is ok. Grotesque is better. How about repugnant?
Golly, the flush would be so lovely. Down the drain with Butt-ars!
Seriously Folks, This one party rule thing is getting out of hand. What is it they say about absolute power... This Buttars guy says it himself, That he's "untouchable" or whatever he says. Where is this Buttars District?
Gee Glen, amazing, fresh, blog post! We all read Rolly's column. Your retread here provided NO new insight to the issues. Please stop retelling stories we can read already in the Trib!
