Mitt for mayor of Provo
The Provo Daily Herald endorses Mitt Romney, savior of the Utah 2002 Olympics, as John McCain's vice presidential candidate. The paper even tackles head on Mitt's unfortunate tendency to flip-flop, saying it could help the GOP ticket:
OK, the man is a politician. As a Republican, he won the governorship of Massachusetts, the bluest of the blue states. It's an asset for someone in the GOP to understand how to do that.
Meanwhile, the Washington Post's The Sleuth reports seeing a "MITT FOR VEEP/McCain-Romney '08" sign in the hands of Ron Kaufman, the lobbyist and senior adviser to Romney's failed presidential campaign.

The Daily Herald editorial board can order its own Mitt for Veep signs here.

I don't understand what the point of this article is. Didn't the Trib endorse Romney in the primaries earlier this year?

Is it newsworthy to point out that a newspaper's editorial board has an editorial opinion? Or is it newsworthy that a newspaper in Utah is supporting Romney as McCain's VP, as is nearly every Republican in the state? Or maybe it's newsworthy that a newspaper is endorsing one of the most popular VP picks in the Republican field? Maybe that explanation will be in tomorrow's blog.

This is a blog. It's not news. Don't look here for newsworthy items.

There is nothing to understand; he's now asset. He won Massachusetts because he lied to the people and told him he supported abortion and gay marriage. That IS the only way a so called "Republican" could have ever been elected in a liberal state such as Massachusetts.

This isn't rocket science - it's just outright fraud. Provo and Utah County are perfect for the likes of Mitt Romney.
