Get-back time for Guv
Third Congressional District candidate Jason Chaffetz's political resume is anchored on his tenure as Gov. Jon Huntsman's former chief of staff. So it had to hurt when Huntsman made it clear that he doesn't think much of Chaffetz's grandiose scheme to herd illegal immigrants into tent camps behind razor wire.Huntsman calls Chaffetz's brainstorm an "extreme idea." He also disputes Chaffetz's claim that the concept originally came from the Western Governors Association. Huntsman, who is president of the WGA, was co-chairman of the committee that wrote the group's immigration policy. Huntsman says it never included Chaffetzesque solution:
Nobody talked about a tent city with barbed wire fences around it.The immigration problem, says Huntsman, causes politicians to lose sight that it's "a human issue first and foremost."
We all knew Chaffetz wrote off Huntsman's support at the state GOP convention when Chaffetz played to the far-right crowd by mocking Huntsman's efforts to reduce greenhouse gases:
Jon Huntsman, as much as I like you, you're wrong on global warming. It's a farce. It doesn't take Karl Rove to tell you that back-stabbing one-liner was going to come back to haunt Jason the opportunist.

Jason Chaffetz has no right representing Utah. Intolerance is not a Utah value.
If he really wanted to 'get back' at Jason the Governor would give the real reason why Chaffetz was fired from his position of chief of staff.
Vote Bennion Spencer
This guy Chaffetz is in the news daily with his cockeyed immigration policy. I say either bring back Mr. Cannon or vote for the Democrat.
Dear Jason Chaffetz,
You suck. You are an embarrassment to our state, our party, and if I had any money I would personally finance the Democrat's campaign against you. Please do us all a favor go back to your strippers in Australia.
Yes folks, its true.
Oh please. Enough about Jason and exotic dancers. It was a long time ago and he already repented for it. You Dems won't let it go. It's old news folks. Move on.
Excuse me? What is this about Jason Chaffetz and strippers? Did I miss something? I know arc is a GOP blogger for Jason. Do tell.
The governor is calling for a detention facility for illegal immigrants? We also put criminals in prisons -- those things with fences and barbed wire. Sounds like the governor is in favor of detaining illegal immigrants in prisons, just like Chaffetz.
The only difference is that Chaffetz wants to save the taxpayers money by using tents. What inhumane about that? Sounds like the Governor is backpedalling. I've never seen a guy with an 89% approval rating be so concerned with his approval ratings.
The difference in what Chaffetz and the Governor's are saying is that Huntsman plan detains immigrants who have convicted of a crime.
Chaffetz wants to detain all illegal immigrants.
Night and day.
He's such a right-wing, complaining, crybaby who gets mad when anyone dares to throw a little criticism his way. He certainly doesn't act mature enough to handle the mantle of a public official.
And Bennion Spencer doesn't have skeletons in closet????
Strippers in Australia?
At least he checked out strippers in a country known for good looking women.
I would question his judgment if he was checking out strippers in Canada or Mongolia where the women are butt-ugly.
Moan about and criticize Chaffetz all you want, folks. He is the next Third District Congressman. Get used to it.
"arc"
How childish can you be. Trying to smear two names with one post, with nothing to back it up with?
Jason has called for a federal detention facility in the west to house federal prisoners. Only those convicted of a crime would be housed in this facility.
He concurs with the Western Governor’s Association, which passed a resolution calling for the federal government to build a facility to house its own prisoners. Federal prisoners who are not violent criminals are often released because there is no prison space to hold them. The detention facility would house those who are convicted of federal crimes – whether or not these people are illegal aliens.
Jason has ALSO suggested that tent facilities similar to those in Arizona are good enough for our soldiers in Iraq and should be good enough for our federal prisoners here at home.
The "arc" on this blog is acting like a child. Who would try to say something bad about someone and imply that it was someone else saying it?
Utah..
It wasn't me. I didn't do it. I didn't say those bad things.
You were correct. It was someone too old to act this way, trying to make fun of me...Using my name..a fake..
What do I do now? I guess the only thing I can do is vote for Jason, and ignore the idiot. Do you agree?
Here's a newsflash for you folks. First of all, if you have been regularly reading Mr. Warchol's blog, you'll see that he obviously has an axe to grind against Mr. Chaffetz. Talk about vitriolic!
Second, if you've followed Mr. Chaffetz's campaign at all and bothered to truly find out what the truth really is about him and his position on the issues, you'll see that Mr. Warchol and the whole crew of anti Chaffetz posters who swarm to his blog are taking two facts and placing them together in a way to turn them into a falsehood. Yes,
Mr. Chaffetz supports the proposals put out by the Western Governor's Association to create additional facilities for fugitive illegal aliens (those who have committed crimes over and above simply slipping across our border without our permission). Yes Mr. Chaffetz likes Sheriff Joe Arpiao's tent city solution because it saves money, but Mr. Chaffetz has never said or implied that the Western Governor's Association suggested tent cities. He simply took two great ideas from two different sources and combined them into one great idea.
Mr. Warchol and his team of blogging sycophants are taking two plus two and trying to make it equal three. Let it go already. People are too smart to fall for your ignorant prattle.
I like how all the negative posters are posting under names that can't be tracked to an account. If you choose to make such allegations, than you should be honest about who you are. Hmm all the negative are within a half hour of each other, makes one wonder.
We have one post faking the name of a common poster to skew the argument. Is this what this has come to? Posting under someone else name is an offense and wrong.
There is no issue in Australia, ask the head of NuSkin, he squashed this slanderous rumors a long time ago. It's just deceit and lies.
Chaffetz has never said the Western Governors Association said tent cities for fugitive aliens, someone made that up. It's poor journalism, and the trib should be ashamed.
It's OK to disagree, actually it's good to inject debate. However lies should not be injected and this all we are seeing. There is no wish for the truth, or actual debate, it's all about fooling people. If this is their goal than I have an issue with how this is being run.
I encourage everyone to research an issue for themselves, not take one persons bias at heart.
You Democrats have no shame. You will say anything to promote your agenda.
Typical liberal behavior--the end justifies the means, even if it requires throwing out any semblance of honor or ethics, if you ever had any.
You people deserve a communist like Spencer.
Tents? We're talkin tents again? Why?
Warchol? I'm posting on Warchol again? Why?
The ISSUE is illegal immigration. The Dem candidate considers continuing to do nothing and continue handling this ISSUE with the same no-result stance the proper way to go. Chaffetz wants to address the ISSUE head on, dealing with it aggressively. I agree with Chaffetz.
The money wasted on illegal immigration and the BS (no pun intended) that it creates ANNUALLY is more than half that of the bail out proposal (a rose by any other name...), you know, the alligator currently at your feet; a plan Chaffetz opposes.
Considering all the issues facing this country, I'm content with my support of Jason Chaffetz.
