Following your leader
In a rare case of bipartisanship, rural GOP Rep. Mel Brown and urban Democrat Rep. Chris Johnson reach across the aisle — not to mention a vast cultural divide — to agree on something: Both flavors of party leadership suck bad. Both are outraged that GOP leaders set the agenda and priorities for the recent special session to cut spending. Lawmakers were expected to follow like the barnyard animals Mel knows so well.
At one poi
nt in the House, Brown says a chunk of higher ed money was cut, then suddenly restored. Brown asked where the money was coming from, only to be told he couldn't know that information. Brown says he was furious that information of public interest was kept secret.
I said I wasn't going to tolerate it.
Johnson was so frustrated by the GOP leaders' arrogance that she infiltrated their caucus meeting to try to find out what was going on:
There was not an equal dissemination of information. On the other hand, Johnson found Democratic House leaders ineffectual:
I want to be diplomatic* about this. I respect the efforts made by my own party's leadership. I would like more leadership.*Legespeak for "I'm really pissed off."

Mel Needs to go cheat on his wife with another legislative employee again. Oh wait I bet he is waiting for this wife to get cancer first.
Thats what a gentleman does.
For the record the caucus Rep. Johnson supposedly snuck into was open to the public. The House Rs don't close their caucus anymore.
It's mu understanding that the House republican caucus is open to all. I'm sure that Rep Johnson and here fellow democratic colleagues are welcome to attend. Of course that doesn't sound as sinister as infiltrate (like some Russian communist spy performing a dangerous night crossing into freedom-loving American).
Mel Brown? Wasn't he the king of backroom deals and closed caucuses? He's only concerned because he no longer has the iron grip of the legislature, having been run out as speaker for his extracurricular activities. If it's got Mel's name on it, then it's corrupt and unethical.
