Life transliterated
Utah's tourism industry is in a slide and panicked marketing experts say they will tweak the state's promotion campaign. They are going to emphasis the "high value" of Utah vacations — as in car trips and other low-rent fun. Here's an idea: Dump the stupid "Life Elevated" motto and campaign. Besides the raft of double-meaning jokes mocking Utah's fertility rates and polygamy — "Life Erected" is a woefully lame creation.
The tourism board has released $50,000 to translate Utah travel brochures into Japanese, Chinese and Korean. We can only imagine how "Life Elevated" translates into those languages.

I've got an idea - let's amend California's constitution.
Yea - that's the ticket :)
Utah would be a lot better off without tourism. Our ski tickets would be cheaper. Our fishing streams would be less crowded. We wouldn't have so many temporary minimum wage jobs that attract shiftless, wandering youth and illegal migrants. Maybe properties values would go down, too, so that young families could afford a decent house again.
Utah: land of the bigots, or Utah, the hate state.
We can thank the mormons for this, but our state will be associated with prop 8 for a long, long time. The last thing we need is a boycott.
It will be a long time before we're free of this bad rap.
Fight the gay hate mongers!!!! Protect marriage!!
Bring back the Alamo ...
And the rest of Park City (and Utah) that way it was before the Olympics trashed things. PC has become a Colorado wannabe, infested with liberals from California ... with Barbies and Kens who - inspite of their hiking boots and 4-wheel drive SUVs, wouldn't last one night in woods.
Gay marriage will never be accepted here. Let them all protest and boycott 'till the cows come home. The only ones who make money off tourists are rich people.
All the growth in Utah has done nothing to help the average Utahan. Utah wages always suck, but at least you had "quality of life" to make up for the difference. Now the wages still suck, the price of homes are way too expensive, and SLC looks like the 10 freeway going into LA
