No ducking the ax
The Tribune's Robert Gerhke (who has no concept of how to write an upbeat Christmas story) used a government records request to take a closer look at how ugly state budget cutting will be — even under Gov. Jon Huntsman's humane hand.Huntsman's 7 percent cut would slash 1,100 jobs, reduce support and medical aid to the poor, cut sex offender and drug abuse programs and close courts.
And the Legislature is demanding the governor call them into session so they can cut twice that.
Exactly where state spending will be gouged is unlikely to be decided until well into the new year, but no matter how it is done, Gehrke's article shows it will be painful, even in well-managed Utah.

Based on the number of comments your Crawler recieves....perhaps the SLTRIB should consider eliminating your job as well?
To the poster above.
Won't happen! The Stupid Liberal Tribune cannot read or understand a balance sheet?
I'd like to personally thank the republican party wonks who make sure to post a nasty comment any time a blog or article suggests party members, and those who mindlessly vote for them, might not be the most compassionate or brightest bulbs in the pack.
Keep up the good work wonks, and keep tweaking them Glen!
