Orrin's new record producer
Sen. Orrin Hatch, a drug-dealing musician's best friend, says he pushed for a presidential commutation of a rapper's drug smuggling prison sentence because John Forte is a "genius" and not a drug addict. Says Orrin:He was no risk to society because he was not a drug user.
Forte was busted for smuggling $1.4 million in liquid cocaine, which makes him a drug dealer. I thought the whole point of the war on drugs was to cut off supply and put dealers behind bars. Somehow Hatch's health supplement-addled brain has created a crime hierarchy in which drug dealers are some sort of lovable Robin Hoods.
I only wish I could be there when Orrin gets his fist tap from Forte. But please, please spare me a Hatch CD of patriotic hip-hop.

OK kids, so here is the lesson we learn from this:
It's alright if you have 31 POUNDS of liquid cocaine on you as long as you meet the following criteria:
1) You went to school with Carly Simon's kid...
2) A US Senator (Hatch) who happens to dabble in music and regularly performs Ms. Simon's songs (and wishes to continue doing so) takes an interest in you...
3) You just happen to be a dealer, but not a drug user yourself...
4) You are a hip-hop artist nobody has really heard of...
If you meet that criteria, then DON"T WORRY!
Keep dealing drugs.
We should lock Orrin and Forte up together.
This is truly embarrasing. Must be either (very) old age setting in or Hatch will do just about anything to hobnob with celebrities.
I hope somebody uses this against Hatch when he seeks election in 2012 for this 20th term in the U.S. Senate.
