Buttars-a-rama blows over?

Collectors' item photo: Buttars smiles!
In an admirable follow-up on a story she had triggered, the Deseret News' Lisa Riley Roche reports that Sen. Chris Buttars will not be removed from the powerful Rules Committee — with or without the simultaneous withdraw of his openly gay counterpart Sen. Scott McCoy.
Under pressure at a press conference at which Democratic senators were calling for additional sanctions against Buttars for his hyper-homophobic comments, Senate President Mike Waddoups relented and promised to consider removing Buttars from Rules. McCoy, figuring he has a conflict of interest as a foot soldier in "the greatest threat to America," said he would step down if that would make it easier for Waddoups to remove Buttars.
But Waddoups later (presumable after checking with Gayle Ruzicka) told the Riley Roche:
In discussing it, it didn't seem to foster the calmness we're looking for. Then Waddoups added something that should come back to haunt him:
The issue seems to have gone away now.
Sounds like Waddoups is just begging gay rights activists to grab the pitchforks and rope, light the torches and march up the Hill.

I'm just grabbing my pitchfork and torch now… should be there in about 20 minutes.
I'm also hoping that America Forever will be there, just for the laughs.
This is not over, not by a long shot.
Butt-ars looks kind of creepy when he smiles.
dont forget you purse?
Oh it ain't over, Senator Waddoups. As long as there is email, paper & stamps and telephones, it ain't going away, unless you go first. It probably won't even take until the next session for ButtarNut to speak his mind, especially now he is free to speak his mind.
'enuf of the Buttars coverage, it is getting old.
This dude was elected by HIS constituents; if they are (or aren't) satisfied with his performance, then it is up to THEM to deal with the dude. Personally, I think the dude is ignorant; however, "I" don't vote for anyone but me.
All this hype about this guy is actually giving him attention - the same kind of attention (perhaps bad - but publicity regardless) that Paris Hilton received for her videos. For a politician, most any PR is good (even if it's bad).
The Trib needs to move forward with other topics of more importance to Utah. Being the National Enquirer to this guy's "life" is long past "old".
Look where his eyes seem to be focusing; it would figure that Buttars would be a lech.
Thats also how he looks at 10 year old little girls !
Waddoups has also been quoted saying he prefers to be optimistic during these tough times, that "most of us" have healthcare and jobs. He apparently is rather far removed from reality and his constituents.
So, is everybody heading to Buttars-Palooza at the Utah Capitol's South Lawn on Saturday from 1-3 pm?
Buttars should ride on a float in a parade down State Street ... I only wish we had 1000 more Rep like him in Washington Les and Gays should stay in the Closet and not flaunt the Immoral life style that they want to cram down our throats
