Chaffetz's publicity limbo
Is there a information medium that freshman Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz won't exploit?Besides Twittering and participating in a CNN reality show on life as a rookie congressman, Chaffetz allowed faux political pundit Stephen Colbert to humiliate him in leg wrestling, Rock Band and even subject him to a facial. Warning: Watch at your own risk. It is so excruciatingly mortifying, you may want to crawl under a chair for Caffetz.
Now, he assaults our senses through an old-school portrait painting. The preliminary sketch is at left, to see the finished portrait, go here.

Did you read his latest article on CNN.com/politics?
This C- "What I did with my Summer Vacation" paper is not only full of ego but a poorly written yawner.
Another Utah embarrassment.
Chaffetz is, as the old saw goes, "crazy like a fox". Moan, groan and criticize all you want but name another freshman who has his profile and name ID. Negative? This early in the game it doesn't matter. And the good ol' Trib continually plays right into his hands with more and more publicity.
Anonymous, He is not there to get name recognition and become a celebrity, he is there to legislate and give Utah a good name. The goal of a congressman is to be known and respected, not to be know and ridiculed.
Glen, Obama's first 100 days are even more atrocious than the worst president in history...Jimmy Carter!
You continue to ignore that fact with sides on Queers and smears of Chaffetz!
Those paintings go for $10,000 not including framing.
He said he lives in his office to save $1500 a month. He also said he wanted to be able to send that money home. Home to the painter?
That painting cost him 6.5 months of rent. Krikey, I'd rather not live in my office than have a portrait of myself.
What an ego this guy has. He's a complete narcissist, and quite a juvenile one to boot.
Obama hasn't even been in office for 'one hundred' days.
What about the last eight years of the Bush debacle?
You're right we to 'stay the course'. Go Chaffetz!
I'm sure Congressman Chaffetz did not commission that painting. The artist worked on his campaign and genuinely likes him. Why? He's the real deal. So whine and complain all you like, but everyone knows who Congressman Chaffetz is and that he stands firm for conservative values and THAT is something Utah needs. A Congressman known for standing for something. What a concept.
The finished artwork looks great.
Jason is doing great. You can actually communicate with him. We had a congressman that went two years without doing that. We should be grateful he is using technology, and listens and reads.
Very well done artwork. It's SO nice to have a responsive, responsible Congressman back in DC. As long as he keeps doing the work he's been doing, he'll keep getting my support.
