Big Love, less outrage
A Los Angeles Times interview with Big Love co-creator Will Scheffer finds that the TV series will continue to annoy the LDS church in its next season — but probably won't invade the sanctity of the LDS temple again. The HBO soap about a suburban Utah polygamous family shocked many Mormons in its final episodes by including a reenactment of a secret temple ceremony. Still, it may stir controversy of a more fundamental nature, Scheffer says.
Mark [V. Olsen, co-creator] wants to explore Mormon church's very specific idea as to how women and men should operate in marriage. We already visited going further into the idea of the subjugation of women.Apparently, the furor over the secret endowment scene had anything but a chilling effect on Big Love's creators.
The general response, the non-Mormon, non-conservative religious response, was very, very positive, because we did what we said in our statement: We were trying to create a moment of great beauty and great art. It could be debated whether or not the Mormons are always going to feel that we crossed a boundary by showing a secret ceremony. And that’s always going to feel like it’s a tremendous disrespect to them.
… The real thing was that the furor died down almost immediately, and I only have to assume that was because we handled it with so much respect and dignity, in context of it being a very sacred, very holy ceremony.
That said, Scheffer adds that it is unlikely Big Love will again violate the Mormon temple's sanctity.
Not to say that we’re not going to go to other places within the Mormon world and within the fundamentalist world. And within the world of family and America that are equally challenging, in some way, for certain people.

This is just proof that the Big Love stunt was more about Prop 8 then really trying to tell a story.
If Big Love is interested in talking about the realities of the Mormon and/or fundamentalist cultures (assuming one could see much difference) the oppression of women should be explored since it is a major tenet of both.
Anonymous number 1: How in the hell did you come to that completely random and unjustified by anything in this article conclusion? You've got to WORK at being that stupid.
And Anonymous number 2: I agree. It would make for intersting TV to see how that subject is handled.
