Commission gets out 10' pole
Davis County commissioners are exercised about ladies' physical fitness after they approved a pole dancing competition for the Davis Conference Center.

The Miss Pole Dance Utah, a.k.a. "Fetish: Battle of the Pole Dancers," competition apparently does not showcase Eastern European folk dancing.

Commissioner Bret Millburn is disturbed by the website for the athletic meet.

I have an issue with how it is portrayed on its Web site. It doesn't show me any sort of athletic component to it. It doesn't speak fitness. This speaks something else.

"Fetish" co-sponsor Meagan Burroughs tried to set the commissioner's imaginations at ease:
This is just tricks, no hips involved, no bootie popping, no provocative movements or sexual gestures, including touching yourself.
She assured them that any "wardrobe malfunctions" result in immediate disqualification.

I'm confused — then why call it "Fetish?" Anyway, expect a sold-out house at the conference center.
