Utah gets props from Illinois
The Chicago Tribune's says Illinois citizens should consider moving to Utah. (The joke, of course, is that living in Utah has been heretofore unthinkable.)
• Drinking laws have been liberalized.

• A poll says Utah residents are the happiest in the nation. (Illinois #31.)

• UofU's football team went 13-0 last season. (University of Illinois 5-7.)

• Gov. Jon Huntsman has come out in favor of civil unions.

• Utah ranks No. 1 in subscriptions to online porn sites.
But not all is perfect in the Beehive State, Hageman says, Utah was recently conned out of $2.5 million in a Nigerian Internet scam, and an MC Hammer-Vanilla Ice show sold out in Orem.

This is all tongue in cheek, of course, but I think Hageman may have uncovered an interesting link: The happiest place in America is No.1 for online pornography.

Utah's liquor liberalization is getting kudos near and far. Minutes after the legislative session ended, I heard the BBC broadcast a lengthy radio report on new liquor laws in "the conservative U.S. state of Utah," before turning to news from Belgrade, Serbia.

And oh yeah, our former Governor (Blago) didn't try to sell a Senate seat. Whatever you think about Utah politics, trust me, Illinois is ten times worse.
