Destination Utah? Think again
This could become Satan's playground.

Yet another national article calls unwanted attention to the breathtaking beauty of Utah. This time the Los Angeles Times rhapsodizes on Utah Highway 12 that zig-zags along the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in southern Utah.
Utah's Highway 12 is one of the most scenic roads in the U.S., although few people know about it. And prices in south-central Utah are relatively low for just about everything. Put it together and you get a great, affordable Wild West vacation that can include visits to nearby national parks.
Adding this to the recent in-depth story on the same area in The New York Times and our Beloved Beehive will soon be overrun with tree-hugging hikers and RV retirees, who will demand Utah protect its natural treasures from fossil-fuel development. They may even homestead in rural Utah and vote Democratic.

Thank Our Heavenly Father that Utah is busy generating counter-balancing news that should scare the bejabbers out of any liberal:

Utah County Republican Party Convention debated a whether liberal Democrats are behind a "satanic" campaign to encourage illegitimate births and illegal immigration. Delegate Don Larsen proposed the "Resolution opposing the Hate America anti-Christian Open Borders Cabal."

Larsen says the Democrats, who benefit from the illegal-immigrant/dysfunctional-family vote, are tools of the Prince of Darkness:

Satan's ultimate goal is to destroy the family and these people are playing a leading part in it.

The Republicans actually discussed Larsen's proposal before voting it down. The comments on Trib reporter Don Meyers' article are definitely worth the read.
It turns out that America's original juniper hugger, California hippy poet Everett Ruess was likely murdered in 1934 just off Highway 12 near Escalante, according to evidence uncovered by National Geographic.

An EnergySolutions contractor made headlines by spewing toxic waste on Utah highways out of a tanker truck repaired with duct tape, a timely reminder to would-be visitors that Utah may soon become the world's radioactive waste dumping ground.

It's pretty cool how Utah County, defender of the LDS faith, finds time to demonize democrats for encouraging illegal immigration, but has no problem with the LDS church turning a blind eye toward illegal immigration. How is this news? I thought it was always pretty clear, at least to most us locals who are not LDS, that Utah is Hell. ^_^

The LDS "church" didn't turn a blind eye toward illegal immigratiton regarding those missionaries who are and were in this country illegally. The "church" knew what it was doing. It figured it could get away with it because, after all, it's the Mormon "church."

And, it got caught. A missionary was busted for being here against the law.

The "church" fell all over itself in trying to defend its illegal actions, but any blind person could see through the sham.

Funny, the Tribune is the only newspaper in the state to report the illegalities and other law violations of the so-called "church".

Odd, don't you think, the church's mouthpiece, the Deseret Mourning News, didn't carry a word.

It actually is really odd. This is a pretty big deal and you think it would be covered because, the missionary is one of our brothers and all. Also, he was doing some pro bono work for the church. So is it not covered because it might scare off future illegal missionaries? Or did they make a decision to ignore it because of their readership, the glenn beck apocalypse crowd. They would be so conflicted. It's illegal, but the church says it's okay. But I hate them because they are illegal and destroying our country. But the church is using them, which is a good use for them. Mixed signals. Does not compute. Remaining portions of brain shutting down. Going into standby mode. Rest. Awaiting new commands from Rush Limbaugh.

"It actually really is odd?" How in the world is this news or odd? The only reason it's one of the most-read stories in the Tribune is due to the fact the headline is very presumptuous and tantalizing for the anti's. Hoping for some real juice the anti's (90% of the Tribune readers) open it, and much to their dismay it's a silly immigration piece.

And George, what's with the " " around church? As a very blind person thanks for catching this "sham." Seriously, when will you people get a life? If you don't like the "church" (the quotes are for you Jorge) then go to your own church - or don't go to church at all - but most of all, just shut up and contribute to society.

Given that our government encourages - and in fact supports (through its abundant social programs) - the influx of illegals, I would say the Church is doing a service to society as a whole by giving the aforementioned illegal a job for two years, teaching him/her valuable social skills (and often a foreign language), encouraging good behavior, and taking the illegal off the public payroll for a time. What State or Federal program does that?
