Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch has written an opinion column for the Washington Times criticizing President Obama's closing Guantanamo detention center before he had a plan for the prisoners housed there.Ordering closure before he even had an attorney general to evaluate the legal challenges and obstacles to detainee cases probably was not very prudent. . . .Hatch goes on to describe the options available for holding the prisoners, suggesting Congress be involved in finding a solution.
Closing the only Defense Department Strategic Interrogation facility we have - a facility with a well-trained security force, secure infrastructure and humane conditions — will leave us no options outside U.S. soil.
It is important for leaders not to govern by what is popular now in an effort to appease the polls or those abroad. . . .I would ask the president to rethink his deadline of closing Guantanamo in less than 12 months. This is a usable facility that has merit and operational worthiness.

Orrin Hatch is brain dead. He's been that way since birth. Should have been aborted or dropped head first onto a concrete floor a minute after the cord was cut.
He never says anything sensible, but slime always drips in strings from his mouth and nostrils.
But he's Utah's idiot and reflects the controlling culture in this theocracy.
