A kneecapping for Specter?
Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch says Sen. Arlen Specter is always have his hand in friendship, but the defector to the Democrats has got to give back Hatch's $10,000 donation.
I know it has been a torturous decision for him, but he is going to have my friendship regardless.
Others dunning the shapechanger from Pennsylvania are Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, Senate Republican Conference Chairman Lamar Alexander, National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn and Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker. Says Corker:
I'm not mad at him or anything. I'm just honoring the wishes of the people who gave that money to help elect Republicans.
Alabama Sen. Richard Shelby is not asking Specter to return for his $10,000.

Pure selfishness on his part. There is no question he betrayed his constituents, and is not representing anyone but himself. He has always leaned liberal, so it is not a collossal surprise. It is just dishartening that he can be bought (I know, he's not the only one). Sure, he will give back the 10k Hatch gave him, but the tidal wave of money coming his way to run again in PA will come from the deep pockets of move-on and other liberal vents. He was probably promised some sweet committee position, and who knows what else. All for the sake of power. Where, oh where are people of integrity?

the man is a centrist and there is no room in the modern republican party for centrists. the further right wing the better. as was shown to chris cannon and is about to be shown to uncle bob bennett here.

problem with bennett is he's too much the self server to be smart enough to jump ship.

Bob Bennett should do the right thing for his own legacy and retire. Otherwise, he'll end up in the history books like Chris Cannon or Bill Orton - with ending statements like:

"...defeated for re-election by..."
