We may be fighting off an economic collapse, but munitions sales — to regular folks, not the military — are booming.
Utahns in the know are stocking up on ammuntion for the coming liberal tyranny. Apparently, having Democrats in charge of the nation is freaking out the gun freaks. The Ogden Standard-Examiner has the latest story on Utah's bullet-buying bezerkers.
Mike Casey of the legendary military surplus and sporting-goods giant Smith & Edwards, says ample personal ammo dumps have been on his customers' minds since the election.
Ammunition is hard to come by, and the demand isn't getting smaller. Even with production increases, it is extremely difficult to get ammo.
Blue Light Special: The Sherman tank parked by S&E's entrance is still available to mow down those Democrat human-wave assaults. (You thought zombies were bad?)
Jeff Spencer of Kent Shooters Supply in Ogden says he hasn't seen demand as high in his three decades behind the counter. It's the (choose an expletive) Democrats, he says:
That party is very anti-gun and anti-Second Amendment. All you have to do is look at what they've said and done in the past and you know what they're gonna do again.
Retailers all over the state say that guns with which to burn all that ammo are also flying out the door. And it's not just the fun assault-type weapons that Democrats like to ban, but everything from .17 cal. rimfire on up.
When I reminded a shop owner (who had but one rifle left in his rack) that the Bush-Cheney regime's internal security obsession seemed to have been more of a threat to gun ownership than pinko Democrats, he set me straight:
The Patriot Act was bad, but Democrats just plain hate guns, you can't reason with them.Case closed. Until claymore mines return to the shelves, I've taken to piling stones and sharp sticks in handy places around the house.

I've been seeing shortages of ammunition since late September/early October which I attributed to hunting season. After 6 months of not being able to find bullets I may have to switch sports. This is getting ridiculous, I understand wanting to buy bullets and guns but the demand should have been worked through by now.
looks like the "e" collapsed in your first paragraph, too.
Can you really blame people for stocking up? After all, Chris Burbank has openly said, for all intents and purposes, that he's only going to enforce those laws of which he personally approves.
This, of course, explains why west Salt Lake has been allowed to be a free-fire zone where gangbangers rule supreme for years while the Salt Lake politicos carefully insulate the richer and tonier east side from crime. West side activist Michael Clara's been trying to get the truth out for years, and nobody listens to him.
Distribute "neo-Nazi" literature in Sugar House, and the FBI launches a hate crime investigation. Gun down a seven-year-old girl in Glendale, and, after the obligatory "woe-is-us" crying jag by the SLC politicos, it's back to business as usual. But gee, that's O.K., because city services are only intended for those who pay the highest property taxes.
Ralph Becker? He's nothing but a tool.
THE HOMELESS - I did not see any mention of the closing of the Weigand center on any blog and I am new to this an if there is a way to create a new topic I don't know it. I am inserting my blog here because it was under the heading of politics. Of course this issue goes beyond politics and into the realm of public awareness. It surprises me each time I run accross my fellow citizens with their head stuck in the sand and their total lack of compassion and responsibility to our fellow human beings. I work with the homeless. Drunks, addicts, mentally ill, doctors, accountants, single mothers/fathers, do you get the idea? People who have no history of substance abuse, who have worked hard for 20-30 years are homeless - not just "undesireables". In my thinking those of you who do not want to help your fellow man are the undesireables! I work, support 3 kids, and still I find a way to contribute to those more needy. And, whether you like it or not, there will always be those more needy than you. When was the last time you were out in the cold for 2 days straight with no where that would let you in to get warm? When did you last go without food for more than a day or a week? If you are not willing to help then you are the problem and on top of that you are self-centered and selfish. Can you give up one $5 cup of coffee a week to help someone? My guess is that it never crosses your mind does it? If you were to lose your job, your medical coverage and then fall sick only to come home to no home, do you expect anyone to help you? If you do not help, why should anyone lend you a hand? Salt Lake City likes to come accross as a charitable place but from what I've seen only a very small part of it really is. I don't want to pick on the LDS church because they do a great deal but how about once a month spending $100 less on flowers around your buildings, how about the politicians with expense accounts asking to have the amount lowered by $100 a month, businesses with company cars start buying cheaper more ecconomical models. There is wasted money by the tons (and I am not speaking figuratively) that could help people. Those of you who own cars that cost more than say $25,00.00 - and there are a huge amount of you. What would happen if you only spent $22,000.00 on a car. Would the world end? I just do not understand my fellow man's inhumanity to their fellow man. If you believe in a judgement day, I feel sorry for the disappointment you will face.
