Orrin: Gosh darn the pusher man!
Sometimes I could swear Sen. Orrin Hatch is doing comedic performance art and, like a latter-day Andy Kaufman, he's totally goofing on us with every breath he takes.
In an interview with the CNSNews.com, Orrin (got to be a stage name, hilarious) tells conservatives that Obama's healthcare reform could kill the Republican party and bring down America's god-kissed two-party system.
Here's how Orrin sees it going down:
• Democrats pass healthcare reform.
• Americans become addicted to having affordable healthcare.
• Americans, jonesing for better lives, become dependent on the Democratic Party for their fix.
". . . You're going to have a rough time, you're going to have a very rough time, having a two-party system in this country. Because almost everybody's going to say all we ever were, all we ever are, all we ever hope to be depends on the Democratic Party."
Orrin concedes that some Democrats aren't evil pushers conspiring to get the nation hooked on socialism.
"Do I believe they're that diabolical? I don't believe most of 'em are. But I think some of them are. I think some of them, actually -- maybe diabolical's too hard a word. But the fact is they really, really believe in socialized medicine."
