"24" in 22 Episodes

Actor Robert Carlyle ("28 Weeks," pictured) talked to Premiere.com about the upcoming "24" made-for-TV movie, which airs in the fall.

The good news is he's in it and plays a former friend of Jack Bauer who apparently becomes his nemesis.

The bad news is he said the two-hour movie is the launching-off point for the next season, which means that the season will have 22 episodes instead of 24.

For those of you, like me, that thought this would have been somewhat of a nice trade-off for having no season at all last year due to the writers strike, I am truly sorry.

I thought the movie was going to be a nice prequel of sorts to the upcoming season. Oh well.

You can check out the brief interview from Premiere here.

Maybe this was part of the contract agreement with the writers....they got their days shortened by two hours ;-)

Vince Horiuchi loves to watch television, play video games and make fun of Hollywood executives - all while keeping an eye on his two daughters. If he isn't in a self-induced coma from watching too many episodes of "Hope & Faith," you'll find him at the local cineplex in a self-induced coma from watching "Bewitched."
