The Man You Love to Hate Returns to "24"
Fans of Fox's heartracing "24" (well, it raced my heart up until the last two seasons) remember Gregory Itzin as the sleazy President of the United States, Charles Logan, through seasons five and six.Even though he was last seen being stabbed by his estranged and somewhat crazy wife at the end of the sixth cycle, President Logan returns to "24" for the eighth season when it premieres in January.
From Fox's press release:
The disgraced former President Logan was last seen after being shockingly stabbed by First Lady MARTHA LOGAN (Jean Smart) in Season Six. Itzin’s return to 24 will bring together the series’ two Emmy-nominated “presidents” for the first time when sitting President ALLISON TAYLOR (Emmy Award winner Cherry Jones) reluctantly enlists Logan to assist with an escalating international diplomatic crisis.
When asked about this on-screen pairing, 24 executive producer Howard Gordon said, “The opportunity for these two remarkable actors to share the stage was simply too compelling to pass up."
Season Eight resets in New York City where a retired JACK BAUER (Sutherland) is unwillingly drawn back into the intense action after learning of a plot to assassinate Middle Eastern peace-keeping leader OMAR HASSAN (Anil Kapoor). Meanwhile, RENEE WALKER (Annie Wersching) and CHLOE O’BRIAN (Mary Lynn Rajskub) return alongside CTU newcomers DANA WALSH (Katee Sackhoff), BRIAN HASTINGS (Mykelti Williamson) and COLE ORTIZ (Freddie Prinze Jr.).
The show returns Jan. 17 and 18 on KSTU Channel 13.
