Democrats Push Chairman to Resign
Summit County Democrats want their chairman to resign -- not because of his recent DUI and assault charges but because he donated to Republicans. See the Park Record story:

We want more!
I have read with interest the articles and letters in the Park Record over the past week concerning Summit County Democratic Chair Rob Weyher. These accounts do not appropriately represent the character of Mr. Weyher.
Rob, like many Utahns with business interests in our state and nation, contribute to candidates in both major parties. In a regulated industry, it is important that those who are affected build relationships with those in government. As Chair of the Utah Democratic Party, I am pleased by those who take an interest in the issues that will create a better community.
Rob Weyher should be honored for his willingness to work for his community, first as the Democratic nominee for the State House in 2002 and currently as the Chair of the County Party. I know him to be dedicated to the success of the Democratic Party and our candidates. He shows it in countless ways with his energy, his counsel, fundraising ability, and connections at national, state and local levels of government.
The issues that Mr. Weyher has championed include access to quality health care, more women and diversity within the Utah Legislature, and prioritizing quality education. These are the very reasons most Summit County residents vote for Democrats.
It is my sincere belief that the great Democrats of Summit County will put aside their differences and, together, continue as a major force for positive change in our community earning the votes of Democrats and Republicans alike.
Wayne Holland Jr., Chair
Utah State Democratic Party
Ian, is that you?
Perhaps Mr. Weyher is suffering an Irish curse after getting wee Jimmy booted out of the House race.
