No, not other members of the U.S. Senate (the Club of 100), but those in the music industry.
The song-writing Hatch intervened recently to help spring an R&B music producer from a Dubai jail, where he was being held on drug charges.
Check out the New York Times story.
And for kicks, here are is a sample of comments on the story from the Huffington Post.
BTW, somebody should take netpilot's $10. The story did show up in the Utah media: The Trib and ksl.com. The Deseret Morning News didn't have it Saturday. Hmmm.
Comments from Huffinton:
The lesson is you better be an R&B Producer if you want to get out of Gitmo.

If Orrin Hatch were not paid to do it, Orrin Hatch wouldn't do it.
He's not going to do any pulling strings for free.

$10 says this doesn't make the news in Utah.

A senator, a prince, a prime minister, and Lionel Richie? Sounds like a winning formula for a buddie comedy to me! Kinda like Caddieshack... Can we get Bill Murray to play the Prime Minister? THAT WOULD BE SWEET!

This just tickles me. So let me get this straight: Can I call Warren Hatch if I'm caught on the street with a doobie?

Most of the above posts sicken me. So the guy got an R&B producer off a 4 year jail term in a foreign country. It would be a different story in the U.S (although he still would have gotten off with a slap on the wrists), but nobody's denying that. Let's just move along and not be retarded left-winging drones. I mean seriously, "Warren Hatch"? Which eye do you read with?
