City Councilwoman Jill Remington Love says she won't join the race.
"I'm not running. I'm at peace with it finally," said Love, who was former Mayor Palmer DePaulis' director of local-business advocacy. "There might be another time. It's not a job I have to have to be happy."
Her decision is sure to make City Council meetings a bit less interesting. Up to five council members had been considering a mayoral bid, potentially sparking decisions and debates that could have kept Tuesday and Thursday night council meetings full of political intrigue -- such as it is.
So far, Nancy Saxton is the only council member in the ring. Dave Buhler is sure to join. Eric Jergensen and Carlton Christensen are also considering.
Two other notables seeking the Utah capital's top job: former Councilman Keith Christensen, who is outgoing Mayor Rocky Anderson's choice, and County Councilwoman Jenny Wilson, the daughter of former Salt Lake City Mayor Ted Wilson.

I am actually out as well. Dave Buhler is my choice and I think he'll make a great Mayor for Salt Lake City. While I have respect for others mentioned, I've served this city too long to not want the best for the city, and subsequently the best person for Mayor. My efforts from this point forward is to not only make sure Dave runs, but wins.
On a side note, let me just say that Jill is a class act and can acomplish anything she wants. I have a lot of respect for her and her abilities and delighted that she'll be one of the new Vice Presidents for the Utah League of Cities and Towns.
HAHAHA! Dave Buhler would be the best for Salt Lake City? Wow. Considering he is as diverse as you are (and about as exciting as a box of hair) I can see why you would support him. People don't get any further "Right" than Dave Buhler. Acknowledging who the people are that live in Salt Lake City and the diversity that is represented here, there couldn't be a worse choice for Mayor of this city (not to mention he is UN-ELECTABLE). President Bush has a better chance being elected to a third term as president than Buhler has of being elected Mayor. He has NO business experience, No vision, and has been a mid level management bureaucrat his entire life. What qualifies him to be Mayor? Participating on a City Council that has been as nasty and divisive with the current Mayor as they could possibly be? That's rich, Buhler would make a good Mayor...funny.
