Atta boy to Webb and D-News!
The Deseret Morning News and columnist LaVarr Webb have come clean with his conflict on the sales tax for transportation ballot issue.

In today's column, Webb includes the following disclosure right up front: "I'm helping direct the campaign for Proposition 3 and the Opinion Question in Utah County, so I'm obviously biased."

Plaudits and congrats for doing the right thing. It wasn't so painful was it?

It only took two months after we started berating them for failing to disclose this vital bit of information.

Our praise is sincere and we don't mean to nit-pick, but we wonder, couldn't they have gone just one step further and provided complete disclosure by acknowledging Webb is a PAID consultant for the issue? You gotta admit, being a paid consultant is different than volunteering for a campaign out of conviction.

Using the phrase, "I'm helping. . ." fuzzies that up.

But, hey, at least the conflict is out in the open now for readers of the column. And that's progress.

Do any of you members of the public have a list of email addresses for utah media?

An associate has about 300 or so and would like to swap. This would include some but not all emails at trib, desnews, ogdensubstandardexaminer, 4,5,2 plus a few others.

You may contact her at stop1984today@yahoo.com.

We can then repost the full list on these blogs so people can cut and paste into their email bcc line.

This way we can all send emails to the reporters and media employees in Utah letting them know what a fine job they are doing of keeping the public informed in consideration of their monopoly status.

Some liberal group called oneutah.org broke the media news blockade and published a photo of water boarding.

Here is the link:

The monopoly media should be ashamed.
