Watergate, part II
God may be punishing Rob Bishop.

Bishop's office in Washington, D.C., was flooded this week when an overhead pipe burst, bringing a deluge to computers, papers and equipment. No one melted.

The flood caused "serious damage," according to a staffer. It destroyed a new, $2,000 copier, the carpeting, computers and piles of files. The fax machine's paper tray was filled with water, apparently, and mail and papers soaked beyond repair.

With that kind of luck, one wonders if Bishop may end up with less than the Republican landslide election victory he's used to.

Dear Milo:

post this story so that voiceofutah.somthing can get some free publicity.

They want to be important but no one reads their web action.

A friend said yesterday, "Even by Utah standards, this election has been dull." No GOP reps disabling IM smut filters or sampling Peruvian delights, no evangelicals getting "massages" from male prostitutes. Noooo--what's Utah’s version of an October surprise? State GOP candidates running ads on cable TV. Granted, some of our friends think cable is a tool of the devil, but as scandals go, it's pretty lame. Fortunately, Voice of Utah has been hard at work digging up a juicier scoop.

Anyone who wanders over to Out of Context, the Tribune's political blog, knows that a persistent poster over there has tried for weeks to drum up interest in his theory as to why Jim Matheson voted for the Military Commissions Act (aka the "torture bill"). It goes something like this:
1. Is it true that methaslime's mother (and utah icon) is the daughter of Maurice Warshaw, the Russian Jewish-american founder of grand central stores and all around successful businessman and good guy? What is their connection to israel?

2. Is it true that Matheslime supports torture because he is half jewish and feels himself to be a member of israeli society? If true, how is it possible that nobody in utah knows that fact?

Look-this is america in 2006 and nobody really cares if matheslime is jewish or not, but the fact that the media has kept the public "stupid" on this point seems highly suspicious, if true. How can this not be news, if true, when the whole family has been "public" for over thirty years?
Yes, that's right, Jim Matheson voted for the torture bill because of his mother's secret Israeli genealogy. We always knew that Norma Matheson seemed too good to be true. Who wouldn't be suspicious of someone who runs around for thirty years volunteering and helping seniors and being all "nice" and stuff? Methinks she doth protest too little.

Not surprisingly, the Matheson-toadie Tribune buried this story, but Voice of Utah’s own in-depth investigation has revealed the truth.
( It all began long ago... )
