His mind, however, seemed to be on another era -- happier days when a young congressman could see corruption everywhere he looked.
"Are we looking for violations by Monica Lewinsky?" misspoke Cannon, who managed the impeachment of President Clinton for lying about his relationship with the intern.
Close. But no cigar.
"Are we looking for violations by Monica Goodling . . . or are we looking for corruption?" Cannon righted himself.
Asked if there was anything new in the hearing, Cannon did offer this:
"If this is a witch hunt, it was Glinda, the pretty witch, not the Wicked Witch of the West," he said.
Thanks for the insight, Congressman.

Is there a point where brown nosing becomes a criminal act? Is there a point where blind complacency and selling one's soul for outdated and diseased party doctrine becomes criminal? IS there a point where being a giant embarrassment to any free thinking constituent back home becomes a criminal act? Is there a point where a ridiculous double standard, a pure toxic hypocrisy becomes a criminal act?
In short, is there a point where being Chris Cannon can become a criminal act?
Because there damn well ought to be.
If the average voter wonders how dangerous to freedom an elected Democrat can be, look no further than former Utah Democrat Party spokesman Jeff Bell.
Bell's statements aren't a sign of the dangers of Democrats. They are a sign of the dangers of partisanship. Jeff does not speak for all Democrats. There are plenty of Republicans who are guilty of similarly partisan and irrational comments.
Besides, I am not an elected Democrat. I'm just a guy in the 3rd CD that has had enough of Chris Cannon.
Besides, Republicans took away our right to Habeas Corpus, so, maybe you want to take a closer look at your "dangerous to freedom" crap.
Ignorance of the law is no excuse except when you are Cris Cannon taking away people's liberties & right to privacy. It's all right when he violates the law, but not when Democrats do it.
