Billings told of how representatives of the Nebraska-based aircraft-repair company examined the city from stem to stern before committing to building a 320,000-square-foot hangar at Provo Municipal Airport. He said Duncan teams examined the city's school system, Brigham Young University and nearby Utah Valley University, the religious culture, even recreation opportunities.
"I know what it is like to wear a swimsuit in a beauty pageant," Billings said. "I'm glad they didn't judge me on how I looked."
Now there's a mental image the audience wasn't expecting. Still, Provo landed the deal.

Tribune's Bob Barr Blackout Watch: The Libertarian Party nominated Bob Barr as its presidential candidate 137 days ago, but the Salt Lake Tribune has yet to inform its print edition readers of his candidacy.
The Tribune's administrators are disabling the accounts of individuals who note this fact in the TribTalk forums or comments sections of SLTRIB.COM.
Barr will be on at least 45 state ballots across the United States.
Nationwide polls show Barr receiving support from between 1 to 2 percent of voters (or about 1 in 50 American voters), and up to 11 percent support in some battleground states.
Only a handful of other presidential candidates can claim the same thing.
The CEO of MediaNews (which owns the Tribune), William Dean Singleton, was a significant financial supporter of Republican U.S. President George W. Bush.
