"We were much better offensively today," Whittingham said. "We executed very well."
Whittingham didn't want to single anyone in particular out for their play, saying the offense did better as a whole.
Good to see that the team responded positively to Johnson's criticism on Monday.
DeVonte Christopher continues to get reps as a receiver, read more about that here.
Receivers coach Aaron Roderick likes having the extra body in his group, particularly since there is nothing new to report on Aiona Key.
"He's a talented guy, he could probably go over and play defense," he said of Christopher. "It was a matter of coach Whitt saying rather than having a fourth QB, is there a position he could be higher on the depth chart this year?"
Roderick might be gaining one and losing one. Kendrick Moeai, a 6-foot-5, 200-pound freshman out of Copper Hills H.S. is getting more and more time with the tight ends. The coaches really like how he is looking, but he needs to add a little weight. It's still unknown whether he'll get playing time this season.
Sticking with the receivers, Whittingham continues to be impressed by newcomer David Reed.
"Every day he has gotten in better shape physically and more acclimated to the schemes," he said. "He's in the rotation. He'll get a lot of playing time at Michigan, whether he is a one or two remains to be seen."
Wednesday's scrimmage is the final one of fall camp and in keeping with the last two, the starters won't see much live work, nor will the threes. Whittingham wants the inexperienced backups and guys battling for positions to get the most reps.
