Beadles definitely coming back
Not really a surprise here since he said earlier he wasn't thinking too seriously about leaving for the NFL, but Zane Beadles has confirmed he is going to stay with the Utes for his senior season. The 6-foot-4, 305-pound junior offensive lineman said he received his NFL evaluation this morning and he was pleased with it, but it wasn't good enough for him to leave early.
"It would have had to have been really high for me to do that," he said.
Sean Smith and Paul Kruger are still weighing their options. They have until Jan. 15 to decide.
Beadles said he hopes they stay.
"We could be great next year," he said. "Our defense could be outstanding, especially if they stay. I haven't talked to them but they are great guys."
Beadles said he has been following all the news reports and discussions of where the Utes rank nationally.
"No one is able to tell us why we shouldn't be considered," he said of the thought of the Utes being No. 1. "We definitely have a good resume."
