Perry Jackson, a 6-foot-2, 250-pound defensive end out of Sierra College, isn't playing this season because of a knee injury, but while rehabs he is looking forward to the next time he takes the field, as a Ute.
Jackson committed to the Utes on Friday, choosing Utah over San Diego State, Iowa State and CSU. He plans to visit Utah next week for the Louisville game. He doesn't have any other visits scheduled and said his commitment was firm.
"I really like the coaches and the program there," he said. "I feel like I can bring a good pass rush to the team."
Jackson is the 16th commitment for the Utes toward their 2010 class. He was recruited by Utah assistant J.D Williams, who is in his first season with the program as the cornerbacks coach.
